By appropriate if you mean trying to keep it clean then yes, let's keep it at least PG.

I try to be respectful of 'Noir' ( No ). I beg her not to do things. But call her by name. French= non-proper. " I want a caffe noir." You get a black coffee. And my girl is black.

Even though I have had a lot of cars I have never named them like a person. (Although the wife calls them "the bitch" or "the mistress") I would just call them by their model name.

I had a lot of cars over the years and I always slightly modified them to make them look like it could have been something from the factory. My favorite was a 1962 Mercedes 190SL with a Corvette 327, 4 speed, no badging, fat tires, side pipes, single position roll bar, and a grafted 66 Corvette bubble hood. Nobody knew what that car was in the Detroit area especially since a Mercedes 190SL was not a common sight in our area. That made it even more fun when someone was sizing up the car getting ready for a stop light to stop light street drag race.

My dad worked at Ford and he was always involved on the next new product launch coming out. So that was always the topic of discussion at the dinner table and family gatherings. So he passed that interest on to me.
So I thought I would name my Miata some sort of a special edition to see if I could create a credible slightly modified car that could be mistaken as a factory limited edition to the non-Miata guys. This while not going over the top to make it ridiculous. (Although me wanting a wing I may have just done that!)

So raised in the Detroit area the scene back then was filled with all kind of Detroit bands and cars to match. Iggy Pop and the Stooges, Bob Seger with Tee Garden & Van Winkle, Ted Nugent, Alice Cooper, Rare Earth, and more...
My friend was a total electronics nut and he converted solid state amplifiers to work in our cars. We then added home stereo speakers using woofers, mid-range, and tweeters with cross-overs. Nobody had the shitz we had! Darn we could have been rich if we got into that market! So we were cranking this amplified music in our high school cars.

Then we evolved into progressive rock to go along with our addiction to high fidelity systems in the car and at home. (in the basement of course!) So we were listening to the likes of Pink Floyd, ELP, Yes, Mahavishnu Orchestra, King Crimsom, Jethro Tull, and Gentle Giant.
So what does this all have to do with special edition cars?? One of my favorite artists to see was Keith Emerson of Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. Well he recently committed suicide. They say that he was depressed because of arthritis in his hands was impacting his playing and that he would need to quit playing.
So I thought I would dedicate the build to my dad and the special edition name to Keith Emerson calling it the "Eunos Manticore".
The Miata project will be my therapy.

Rogue. Think Seinfeld and the 'Serenity now' episode.

Just up the coast from you. But in China they have all the goodies.

The cats taste like chicken. And you feel hungry in thirty minutes.

Try Uni (sea urchin). No chicken taste there. No chicken texture, either. But good in its own way.

Why you blow bananas out your nose?

Wow, I listened to most of the the same bands, graduated H.S. in '69, don't forget Procol Harum, ELO and Rick Wakeman. Maticore SE, cool name & has a story behind it.

Wow, after reading this plus it being a rainy, quiet night, I've decided to listen to A Whiter Shade of Pale while I insert my Oblivion DVD (which that song is heard) and try to fall asleep. Damn you New Posts button!

Car's name is RustRat, well, because of rust. But I am thinking I will have to rename it, after the changes I plan.
