Yay for more NB lovin!
July 2015 - July 2016
Time for an update, isn't it?
Washer fluid bottle mounted!
Bought new wheels! Not sure what to do with these yet... SSR SP1 15*7 ET20
Got a great deal on a center exit exhaust, so I just had to have it!
New year, new accent.
Got the headlight inserts colormatched to the car.
More wheels! Picked up a set of Alleycats in size 14*7 ET12
Of course after driving 10 hours to get them, they wont fit without spacers. 5mm was needed. Going to grind down the brake caliper bracket a bit to make them fit.
Taken the same days as the clutch slave cylinder sprung a leak 120km from home.
Trackday bro!
A friend of mine polished and waxed the car! I forgot how clean it could look!
Night shots! These Revlimiter gauges are soft on the eyes during the night!
Installed a new wheel, and got the 3D-printed bezel for the center console mounted. Gauges from speedhut to match the revlimiter gauges. Push button for launch control as well!
And I got a GV bumper to match the rear wing!

Great bunch of updates, car looks great albeit I prefer the OEM bumper over the GV one. If you decide to sell the SSR's let me know, a friend might be interested.
Yes!
Came back here after google searching for Maruha coilovers, and damn, I had forgot how cool that car is. Any updates?

Oooh, I like this! Especially how constant the distribution around the bend looks... ;)
How was the CFD model set up in terms of boundary conditions, i.e. what "drives" the flow?
And since you are back...what do you think of the coilovers? Mine are currently waiting to be installed, debating of changing the springs to softer rates for comfort at the moment, so your feedback would be massively appreciated!

It pulls 115 grams per second on the "engine" end. From what I have read, it should be what the 1.8 pulls at full throttle near the redline. It was like 60 revisions to get it so even. Or about two weeks with 5 hours per day of modeling and simulating.
As for the Maruha coilovers, I had one spring break in half in the front. So I swapped in some cheap 10/8k springs in the front and back. I don't like how it rides now though, so I might invest in some swift springs. I had to buy some custom made spring seats, as the old ones seized up. I paid $60 for four threaded spring seats. Maruha wanted $380 for a set. Thats what I paid for the whole coilover setup lol.
The threads on the coilover is M55x2 and I bought replacement parts from https://www.motorsportshop.nu. Higher quality aluminium, with recessed(?) threads to avoid seizing. I drive the car all year, through salt and snow.
Double post. top kek
I have named it "Sax Cobra".

Looks like a sax cobra indeed!!
And flow seems about right, although I would do it as a volume to correct for different densities in different temperatures. Looks really promising as a design! What material did you use to print it?
Regarding the coilovers, how did you find the original 8/6kh springs? Was thinking to go 6/4kg...
Thanks! I printed it in PLA. I was thinking about printing it in ABS and test it, but I lost some interest along the way. Some day I will test it.
The original springs (8/6k) were perfect. Stiff, agile and responsive. Perfect on the street and on the track. I've been through several wheel/tires on that setup. 14x7 ET5 with 185/60-14 Toyo Proxes CF2, 15x9 with BFG Rivals 225/45-15. And it's the perfect middle ground for both. Lots of travel, but never bottoming out.

Worried about underhood temps, even with ABS. PLA would turn in a puddle in no time. PETG might also be a good candidate. Or you could use the PLA one as a master for a carbon fiber intake trace...yummm...
And thanks for the info on the coilovers! Wanted to go softer as roads here are a bit broken/potholes etc, but might give them a go as-is.
Time for an update.
First of all. For anyone of you worrying about using ABS under the hood in the intake side. Please don't. Printed or molded, both works. I've had the MAF-adapter in the bay for close to four years. It still looks brand new.
With that out of the way, I want to present the first production saxcobra intake I've been using it for a few days now, and it makes a whole lot of difference across the whole power band. I even had to retune my ECU because of it.
