Hardtop rear chrome "feet" loose
Hello everyone, I have a question about my hardtop. My hardtop is secured via GarageStar brackets, and instead of keeping frankenstein bolts on, I secured the rear chrome brackets with a bolt. The hardtop is on there REALLY good. It is as close to being the Miata Coupe I have always wanted, and much more ridged than it with soft top. Unfortunately I believe securing the rear chrome "feet" with a bolt and washer instead the frankenstein bolts has caused the whole rear chrome piece to become loose. I can wiggle both with my hand. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm not too torn up about it, but its literally the only squeak/creak in my whole car >:-(. The top isn't cracked, and the rear chrome feet will not pull out. Is it possible to secure this again, or at least stop it from squeaking?

Do you have a photo of how you mounted it? I'm trying to picture it in my head, but I haven't had my coffee yet.

Are you talking about the part that is connected to the hardtop? Is it glassed into the top as it is made?

I was talking about the rear chrome latches that go over the Frankenstein bolt. I had it secured by a bolt instead, because race car and stuff. The whole chrome piece was loose presumably because of chassis flex breaking the internal fiberglass support. I simply used Gorilla glue to secure it in place again.

Those rear boxes shouldn't be flush with the body of the car, they should be raised 1/2" or so. The chrome part is just a cover, the piece that's molded to the top is what really matters.
