    New Guy, California

    Hey
    I have had my 1990 since 2000,
Did many changes through the years to eventually come to having a VVT, AEM EMS 4, NB suspension and RX-7 differential on 6ULs. And a whole lot of other things.

After putting it on the track and having fun I am now in the process of returning it to as stock as is possible while keeping the VVT.

Hope I can contribute something to this site.

    Welcome home.

Just curious. Why not leave her the way she is and pick-up another to have the retro feel and drop a VVT into it? Then you would have the best of both worlds. You already have the skills since you did it once.

Yes I did it once, the most miserable swap I have ever done. And probably the most rewarding in the long run.
Playing with what sellers term as Plug N Play for the AEM really means Plug and Play With It, for about 3 months ! to get running right, even with ahem "support" or lack there of. Runs Great NOW !

The return to stock is an attempt to be able to sell her this spring and recoup many dollars in extra parts and add-ons.
The VVT stays, probably the best motor Mazda offered. It would be difficult returning to the 1.6 now. AEM works wonderfully, now.
Another Miata just does not seem to be in the cards. Aging Mom, (now with me) many dogs and the "wife" dictate a larger vehicle. Also, the lack of expendable funds to play with her as I would leads me in that direction.

So this spring she will be for sale. Well sorted with FatCats, RB bar & support, strong VVT, AFPR, matched injectors, dual feed fuel rail, Wallbro pump, 949 crossflow, super miata cutch, 7# flywheel, NB sub frames, arms and steering, poly and delrin bushings, ALL joints replaced in Oct 2015, Wilwoods up front sports rear, 6ULs on low miles 888s, very nice stock seats and interior with no console and new carpet, RX-7 4.3 clutch diff, NB axles, frame rails and differential bracing, and harness bar (it made the most improvement in stiffness).
Hard top will go for a VGC soft top. Roll bar, door bars will go as well. RB nose and splitter will be replace with the OEM nose and air dam, smoked lights remain. Spares to include passenger door, rear bumper, passenger fender all color matched, and as many parts as you can fit into the trunk before I sell them off. I have a lot.

I guess that is why. But, thanks for asking. Seriously.

This is kind of a bittersweet welcome but many of us come back to this little roadster after leaving for a bit. Welcome to MazdaRoadster..Net.

15 years is a good run, I have had marriages that lasted less.
