Welcome to the Mazda "BRG" Roadster site. You have an amazing car, with that beautiful deep British Racing Green paint. You are making everyone with a BRG car want to go out and get their cars repainted so that they can have a BRG that looks as good... maybe that's just me.

Question: Do you know if your car was painted with a clearcoat over the green base? I ask because in 1991 the BRG paint was single stage, but Mazda started using clearcoat in 1995 and your car is a '96. Again, your paint is AWESOME!

    Thanks so much!

Regarding the paint work, I think there is a clearcoat but not 100% sure. IF there is, i think it's a very thin layer. The paint is immaculate because for 10 years it was literally covered in soft blankets and a car cover inside the garage, hardly seeing the light of day. Im going to try and maintain it as well as I can by protecting it with sealants etc, keeping it garaged and washing it every two weeks as per my other cars.
