Harry if that was the IL Motorsport Cobra sliding mirror then you may have to take your dome light down and replace the upper mount there. In my NA the uppermount is bolted where the rear mirror is at. It looks like on the NB that is the where the dome light is at. If you don't get an absolute answer wait till next weekend when I get back home and I will test fit it on my 99 to confirm.

Thank you for the kind words HarryB.
Speaking of mirrors, I replaced the NB stock one with this vintage one used from an AC Cobra

TBH I prefer this solution; I think that the rod would look a bit out of place and I love my map light; it is quite handy after the LED update! ;)

    Hi Harry,
The process I did was to keep the original base and welded the Cobra arm to it and sanded it and chromed dip or paint it if that's easier. Hope this helps.

That's really neatly done, would not have guessed! Most probably gonna CNC a brand new one then, would be easier than finding a spare one, cutting, welding and chromeplating it. Cheers Mike!

P.S. We are still waiting pics of your awesome NB, and I believe I speak for everyone... ;)

Looking for inspiration for painting my RS8 wats, I came across this:

Now I know these are F8s (and the only retro thing about the car is most probably the wheels), but I really really like it!

This is my 1st stage to a vintage look for my 2001 SE. I made new door panels. They're flat like NA. I used 1990 NA door card tops, which I stripped and reupholstered with some foam in it. The cards are actual door car material for custom work. The electric door switch is hidden under the vinyl padding in the top of the driver's door. The wood is African Mahogany, which matches the steering wheel, e-brake and shifter. Figuring out the wood type was a bitch.

The door handles have been deleted and old style Porche canvas pulls are used instead. It's hard to see the strap in the pic because it's pointing right at you

The aluminum bezels I had cnc cut and then I sanded from 60 grit to 800 grit after filing the edges round. Then I polished with a drill and buff pad. The bars are finished the same. They're just 1/8''x3/4'' aluminum from home Depot. I used the bars to cover the transition from wood to vinyl.

Next step will to cover radio surround with real African Mahogany and delete the console. 2 paddle switches will be used for the window switches. The console will have the wood on it as well. I think that no console and the flat door cards will give it a nice retro rod look.
