    Hello everyone

I found out about this forum from a business card that was included with my MiataRoadster shifter. I have had my Miata for about 2 years. It's a 2004 LS / 6-speed in Black Cherry Mica. The only mods done to it are EBC Greenstuff brakes, Magnaflow exhaust, and Miata Roadster shifter with weighted shift knob.

Just wanted to post an introduction.

And of course, here's my car:

I responded to your PM and suggested you introduce yourself. Welcome Brian! Black cherry is a really neat color! What other plans do you have for it?

    Yep, thanks!

Any changes that I do to it will most likely be geared towards suspension, handling, and better brakes (the EBC Greens don't bite enough for me) and potentially go down to 15" wheels from the 16's that are on it now. And, anything else that really grabs my attention, such as the Miata Roadster shifter you showed me.

What are goals as far as ride hide height, usage, etc? I just so happen to have a fantastic Fat Cat Motorsports 2040 coilovers for sale that is a "grand touring" oriented setup meant to be at approximately 12.5"F/12.75"R but i had it as low as 12"F/12.25"R and most of the time at 12.25"F/12.5"R. There are a lot of great options for sure, just figuring out your goals is the difficult part.

Thanks, but i'll pass on the FatCat's for the time being.

No goals. Just to keep it a fun street car. I'm not saying the FatCat's wouldn't make it more fun, but my current Billstiens aren't in need of replacement, so i'll continue using them for now. Not really interested in Auto-X or track racing at the moment. I've been using the car for daytrips and wildlife photography with my girlfriend for about the last year. Not having a roof makes shooting from the car really convenient. Keeping it at stock height allows me to go down "some" really light dirt trails. This was never my intended purpose for the car, but it works.

Right before I got my Miata, I had a '66 Buick Riviera GS.

We found it in a barn, bought it from the land owner, and turned it into a safe driveable car. Well, as safe as you can get with suicide brakes. I owned that for around 11yrs. I got bored with the Buick, sold it, and decided to get a car that that needed nothing and was much more reliable. I regret nothing about my decision to sell the Buick and get a Miata and am glad I did. Plus, my garage gained about 8 feet of usable space!

The funny thing is, when I had the Buick, it was hard to find some parts. 1966 was the last year of the Nailhead V8 and the first year of that body style. You took what you could find on some things. There is no aftermarket for that motor. Now that I have the Miata, there's so many companies that make parts for Miatas, the hardest thing is trying to decide which brand to choose, lol. I've been meaning to replace my radiator with an aluminum one, but cannot decide on which aluminum one to go with.

Man i really like that Riviera!

Some must have suspension mods, imo, are: frame rail braces, fender braces and derlin door bushings.

Welcome, I guess I'm lucky I still have my cruiser.
I have a 1962 Thunderbird that is nearly finished, as well as a 1963 Skylark still with its aluminum 215 Baby Nailhead.

    Welcome rOck! Glad you joined!

If you had not sold the Buick I would have had a buyer for you. Coworker wants a Nail-Head.
