Doing her timing belt soon and a few other maintenance items while I'm in there. Also will be swapping over to an NB subframe and steering rack, adding an OEM PS cooler line, and installing the I.L. Motorsport control arm bushings. She'll be down for a little bit, but it's fine, she'll be better for it.

    Good luck Jamie!

I heard that soon after the bypass opened Wilbur's went out of business. Say it ain't so!

And the place with the chicken 'n pastry, Kinstonian <sic> will not reopen after William?

Sad times if these are true!

What are you asking for the Conquest? And just how far removed from OEM is she?

Robert and myself were having a discussion just two days ago about that car. Not your's, but a Conquest and it's 'big-block' four with turbo.

    It's basically a stock 1989 Conquest TSi (non-SHP).

14G replacement turbo, new OEM exhaust manifold stress relief cut and gasket matched, and a Jet Valve Elimination kit are the only mods. Everything else is stock. It's been professionally repainted (not some cheap MAACO job) the OEM Sophia White with satin black hood & bits, mirrors, and spoiler for a Panda look (which I sort of wish I had just had the whole car painted the OEM Sophia White, but I didn't think I'd ever want to sell it). I also have a set of aftermarket vinyl "badges" (stock was just decals as well) ready to be installed. There's also a lot of other little maintenance repairs I've done here and there over the years.

It needs the following "major" items addressed, new shocks, front end rebuild, shifter rebuild, and possibly a torque tube rebuild. Even so, with all of that, it still drives fine. LSD rear still works fantastically. Compression is 140 across the board, which is great actually, right within spec (CR is only 7:1).

Currently not running because I'm being super lazy about fixing the timing (wasn't paying attention when I pulled the distributor to remove the intake to replace the intake gasket (got in a rush)).

    118K miles.

$8,000 because of the paint. Which I know is a high starting point considering the miles and work needed, but the body is absolutely solid. Also, new lower front airdam which are commonly broken and increasingly rare. Oh, and like I said, it's an '89, so 6 bolt axles, '89 ECU, and lowest production year for Conquests.

Again, I know it's an uphill battle to get that price. Even though rare, there's no demand for Starion/Conquests. Not to mention I seem to be in the minority placing a higher value on good paint and bodywork far above perfect mechanicals.

Everyone likes to say how awesome StarQuests are and how much they love them... but it's never enough to buy mine, ha.

We will need to discuss this further.

But time to let the thread get back on topic.
