I received my tinted set but unfortunately the passenger side is cracked. Will still install the driver side and post pics, etc. They look that much better tinted, imho.

man so many air bubbles
Have you been in contact with CM about the air bubbles?
Nice to know it they define it as a bug or a feature.
Not at all. Maybe Marc will chime in here for all that are concerned about the bubbles.

And don't worry. I have a bubble shift knob coming to match for everyone that don't like the bubbles.
Any word on the aluminum version??
I think it was not cost effective. So no bueno
I received my set of Carbon Miata tinted vent windows at the end of June but my new job doesn't give me the free time that my previous job gave me and it is hot and my garage is being taken up by a broke down Mustang. Here are the Carbon Miata tinted vent windows....

...unfortunately the passenger side vent window frame was cracked in its journey from China to Texas so Marc is going to send me a replacement. Which means I only have one to install, that is the up side.
Replacing the triangle windows isn't that difficult but the first time I did it on Warbird when installing a Project G vented window I think it took me....maybe an hour and a half. Basically you have to remove the door panel, window and finally the triangle window.
I used this guide from jnshk, http://clubroadster.net/vb_forum/86-...e-windows.html , so big thanks to him because even this time around I had to refresh my memory but it is pretty straight forward.
On to the comparison pictures. Here is the OEM triangle window in all its OEM glory....
....Carbon Miata tinted vent window installed...
...and a few more comparison pics.
Finally some pictures of the Carbon Miata tinted vent windows fully opened.
One thing that should be disclosed is that when I initially installed the vent window it would only open till it hit the windshield frame door seal, if the door was shut. Sure you could it open it all the way but then when you shut the door but it would be jammed up against the windshield frame door seal and you couldn't close it w/o opening the door. Obviously that isn't good.
My solution was to simply remove some material from the upper top edge of the vent window as there was still plenty of overlap of it and the vent window frame from what I could tell. Since doing this I have contacted two other people with the vent windows(one NA, one NB) and both said theirs interfered with the door seal. At this point I'm not sure if that was the intended stop point or what. I have reached out to Marc but haven't heard back from him.
I will be doing a install guide and full review but till then I would first like to thank Marc for taking on a project that others have tried but never made it to production. There is a lot that clearly went into designing it and some nice features. It has two 'locks', one on top and one on the side that has magnetic tips to hold them when closed and open. The pivot arm for the window as a knob that you can tighten down to keep it in the open position of your choice. If I hadn't removed the material I did(1/16" or more, iirc) then it would only open about half of what it currently does.
So how effective is it? Well even at city speeds(30mph) it moves a noticeable amount of air with the top down, windows down and the vent window all the way open. At highway speeds(60+mph) it is that much more noticeable, in fact most would probably not want it all the way open at highway speeds. I haven't drove with it in any other configuration as of yet. Will follow up once I have more feedback!
