Cerium oxide (or glass polishing compound) can do wonders on a windshield; would prefer this over a replacement.

Ordinarily, I might try that, but the chips, pocks, and scratches incurred before my ownership have compounded to where it would be more beneficial to replace.
If you look at the light source(s) below, you can see the scratching from either bad wipers or accumulated dirt. You can see the white dots or specs, which are from road blasting. Its worse at night and most light sources have a halo or scratch-patterned diffusion around them. This windshield is clean and polished:

Maybe Im just old, but I remember when these windshields were $200-300 installed. Safelite quotes me ~$425 online.
With insurance, I don't even wait until it gets half that bad before I get brand new glass.
No todo que es oro brilla.
Its a track car/DD. I dont carry that much insurance on it.
If you have full coverage or comprehensive, just call one of the big windshield places like Safelite and they'll replace it at no cost or deductible to you. It doesn't even have to be broken or even cracked, just peppered enough to where it presents a safety issue.

I set my deductible on comp at $500, no collision. Insurance here is very close to what it was in LA/OC.
Tires arrived! They were on my front porch before I received notice they had shipped, lol.
(4th tire is already in my trunk)
I have an appointment to drop them off Saturday with my wheels to have them mounted. I also need to make an appointment to get my alignment done. I need less toe all around for the type of driving the car sees now.
Heres a hawk on the neighbors fence, scoping for chipmunks. Hes a little guy compared to some of the battle cruisers I see gliding around.

Much success! Test driving to triple digits in Mexico, the tires are smooth and round. I wont have time to get an alignment myself at my preferred shop. My job is very busy and it will be tough to get the car there myself.
Fortunately, my wife works from home and will be able to carve out some time for it. She understands the specs I sent her and has been through this process with her own Miatas. I may need to burn off or pump out some fuel. She is lighter than I am but I had filled the tank last week before I noticed the exposed cords on the old tires.
I generally like to have the car aligned with 1/3-1/2 tank of fuel and me in the driver seat at this shop.
I will decrease the camber a little all around, zero the toe in the front, and a breath of toe out in the rear. There is a doubleheader track day in two weeks at Road Atlanta. I may drive if my new helmet arrives in time.

Interesting...I always toe in a little bit in the rear.
