For five years in a row, Classic Mazda East has sponsored a very special and unique event leading up to the infamous American LeMans 12 hours of Sebring race.

Please join us on Saturday March 10 from 5:30pm-8:30pm to celebrate motorsports as we lead into the opening round of the ALMS season with the 60th Anniversary of the 12 hours of Sebring.

You do not have to be a Mazda owner to attend, this event is open to anyone with an interest or passion for motorsports.

We do not yet have confirmation on what teams/cars/drivers will be in attendance, but I have attended it every year now and it has been a great opportunity to meet those team members (crew and drivers) that do take the time to be there. Usually there are several Grand Am Rolex series cars and drivers including some from the various ALMS & Grand Am support series. Both the Dyson LMP car and the Speed Source RX8 have been there every year so far.

I'm about 95% sure my daughter and I will be driving over for this. We'll be taking the northern route across 50 if anyone in the northern Tampa Bay area is heading over and wants to caravan.

There WILL be a Mazda owners car corral for the 12 hrs of Sebring!

This event is TONIGHT!

Chances are very good at least one if not all three Dyson Mazda drivers will be on hand this evening (they are testing the new car in Sebring all day today).

SpeedSource will have the actual Grand-Am RX8 race car there (because the silly little roller show car is already in Sebring )

So Race cars, Race Drivers, free food, raffle and giveaways... I think it's a no brainer you need to go!

I got to go on a very spirited test ride in a CX-5 with Continental Tire Series driver Tyler Cooke, won Sebring 12hr tickets and a matching 60th anniversary poster in the raffle and got to sit in the Freedom Autosport MX-5 race car (which actually fit me like a glove) while getting racing advice from one of the team bosses. I'd say that this year was a success.
