I breathe life into this old thread!

Here are my poor man's rims. I was looking to buy some other stock rims to paint, for a change and to fit some wilwoods.

Looks really good! Do you have a set of center caps to cover the axle nuts? If not check your local hardware store for pipe caps. Get the right size and pant them, or put Mazda emblems on them. Great looking BRG!

both of these look great, since I have a BRG as well, I think I should at least paint my hollow spokes so there are not three of us...

I'll be rocking gold daisies come Spring... waiting for the new Direzza Z2 to come out.
2012: Purchased Miata, Laid off 3 days later. 4th place overall (default!), NWOR SCCA (RTR)
2013: Budget RTR build, massive increase in participation, 3rd place overall, NWOR SCCA (RTR)
2014: Suspension and more active competition in STS. 3rd place overall, NWOR SCCA
2015: Time for some "form" and vintage styling (while still racing NWOR, of course).

Here's mine I repainted them silver w/black center caps. I'm thinking of redoing them in gun metal with a polished lip. I'm not sure yet though.

Antique Copper Metallic (has copper and green flake in it). Left the lips and flats of the spokes in their machine finish.

This is a close-up of the color:

Not Miata stockers... But painted stock wheels nonetheless.

Looks much better than the color they were when I picked them up...

The trouble with "directional" wheels is that one side of the car looks opposite than the other. Good job on the paint.

Reviving an old but good thread.
The basics: Clean/degrease it: Sand the scuffs: Scotchbrite pad scouring: Etching Primer: Finish off w/ Duplicolor wheel paint.
