I cant be the only one in this group who has a canine as a wingman. Maggie, my border collie, literally begs for rides. The fact that my Miata and dog have the same color scheme is totally coincidental.

My first greyhound loved sitting in the passenger seat, front feet on the floor, with her nose pushed towards the windshield where it meets the dashboard. I like to think it reminded her of her racing days.

I had a Flatcoated Retriever (longer & taller than a Labrador Retriever) that just LOVED my Miata. He just loved to ride in the car top up or down. He barely fit, but he LOVED IT! He could read the road and would counter lean going into turns!!! He would try to crawl under the car with me when I changed the oil! When I changed the top (an all day job as most know) what ever seat I wasn't in, he was, the whole time. He was a car guy/dog. They only have a life expectancy of 9yrs. and sadly he's gone now, but what a TRUE Miata Nut He was! I sure miss him and always think of him when I'm in the car. He didn't like his picture taken (I don't know why, but it's true) so I don't have any pictures of him in the car, I sure wish I had. Even better yet a video of him counter leaning would have been a gas!!!

I guess I will need to get a picture of my co-pilot next time I head out.
