Haha. No spare parts around me apart from a Pitcrew Racing conversion. I am thinking I might need to sell a car.

Recaros...

On/off I had been thinking of buying another RS-Limited for a good couple years but either they were missing the Recaros, poor condition or beyond my budget. This one needs some TLC and is missing the BBS wheels but hopefully I have found a set I will pick up later today.

RS-Limited Recaros are near the top of my list of things I need to have once in my life.

RS-Limited Recaros are near the top of my list of things I need to have once in my life.

Keep in mind that they only work for medium sized people.
I had them once about 10 years ago, was over the moon to source a set in good condition and got very depressed when i had mounted them and tried to sit in the car, which just wasnt gonna happen as they took away leg room due to the mounting position and being a fixed bucket seat there wasnt much to be done about that.

I have the RS Recaros in my silver Mx5 too. I’ve had quite a few sets including the rare Spirit Type R versions from a RX7.

Bucket seats wise I’ve had a few and these have been my favourite.

It also appears they are a pension fund with the MK1 Mx5 becoming more desirable in classic car circles.

Picked up some 15’ BBS wheels last night the RS should have come with and a factory dealer option sunglass holder, which should both get fitted soon.

I am 5'11 195 so hopefully I can fit if I ever do find a set. Also I just feel they're super cool for something thats OEM like Carbon kevlar miata seats?! tahts wild! However would be a little sacrilegious because I work for OMP Racing but they're worth it.

Few updates in the last week. I bought the RS-Limited with a short MOT (annual government inspection test you must have to drive car on roads). I visited a test centre and it passed OK. Surprisingly clean underneath, which was good.





Likewise not the best of the condition as the bases had corroded like on a lot of them but picked up some Autoblaze bullet door mirrors for £40 delivered. I sprayed the bases black and have fitted in the green Pitcrew. No photos as car is in the garage. For the money I’m paid happy as suit the car more then the standard door mirrors imo.

End of the month my cars are appearing in a UK MX5 magazine. They think I’m a bit mad about MX5s!

It is something from Garage Vary. Getting it delivered from the north to the south has cost me 3x what I paid it.

Few updates. A UK magazine specialising in MX5s did an article on me and my cars. They say I am a bit obsessed about MX5s!



Next up bought a Garage Vary bonnet I was going to use on my black roadster but decided once I had it less is more and I like the more simple existing approach black roadster. Got it for a good price so passed on at mates rates and will help someone else’s project.



Also a purchase this week. I bought some Vitaloni mirrors as figured they would come in handy. Thought they were the Sebring versions but when they turned up had M2 Incorporated stamped on them so I believe M2-1028 door mirrors. I will either get sprayed silver and go on my silver car as that has M2 roll bar and oil cap or sprayed black would work well on the black roadster.
