Wow what a build thread, only taken me an hour and a half to read, damn you slow internets! Love all the little random characters who pop up lol. And your descriptions for some of the pictures are just epic.

Looking forward to reading and seeing what else you do to the car. Was gutted when I saw the crash picture but you really have brought the car back.

    Keep up the great work!

I think this belongs in my build thread... I'm certainly as proud of these as I am any of my mods.

Sharkatoon - Rear. By Shintaro Maeda.

When I saw all the awesome avatars smaeda was making, I knew I had to have a rear quarter angle. I made my request and waited patiently. And just a few days later, this was waiting for me in my email.

    I'm stunned. It's perfect.

This will be my avatar for a long LONG time.

Hey Rev, Sharka is one of the nicest miatas on the internet and the new avatar is awesome. Just have a question for you. I'm going to be buying a FM turbo soon and was wondering why you went with the AEM ecu over the Hydra?

Adam, what's your favorite tire that you have used so far on the 14's? Sharka is making me want to trade in my 15's for some, but I'm having trouble justifying it with the limited tire choices.

I have a Link ECU, not an AEM. The little AEM box under my hood is just a wideband controller. I went with that one because it works best with the Link.

As for the Link, I've just used it for so long, so I decided to keep it. I used the Link N/A for 5 years before the turbo. I'll upgrade it someday, but I'm very good at tuning it to be honest. It's old, but it works. So, I kept it to keep watch of my turbo.

YES!!! Breaking Bad is filmed here in Albuquerque. I love watching it and seeing the sights. heh

The abandoned AT&SF railyard is also in the movies Gamer, Terminator 4 (I think, the latest one anyway), the first Michael Bay Transformers, and a pretty good amount of other flicks. WELL, I've not yet worn out my Toyo T1Rs. They're a bit over half life right now. But, I'd get the Dunlop Star Specs. I've got them on Bucky, my NB, and love them. They're a couple light years ahead of the T1Rs in terms of grip. Er... that is, when the road is warm. I've got the snow tires mounted on Bucky for the winter right now.

I ran 14s for years. 2 sets of Bridgestone RE71s, 3 sets of Falken Azenis (the original compound), and like 5 sets of Kumho Victoracer V700s. I've always liked 14s. They're worth the trouble of finding tires.

Hydra is absolutely terrible. If for some reason you don't want a DIYPNP or MS3x, then go AEM. The Hydra is awful to work with, finding someone to tune one is difficult, ridiculously expensive for the feature set, etc. Look over on Miataturbo if you want to read more horror storries.

I'd say go MS like brontosaurus said. They're easy enough to tune too.

When my Link finally dies, I'll very likely do the MS as well. Huge user base, easy to tune, and not nearly as bank-breaking.

    Sir,

My first post on this board is to complain about your attitude. Your blog and this topic need leather dashboard update urgently.

I can't wait to see the finished result.

    Sincerely yours,
    Canaille
