Here are a few of my pictures from Petit Le Mans. Criticism is welcome. I know they are all basically the same composition, but I had very limited time shooting pictures and the lighting was just right when I went out, so I only really got to shoot at that one location.
Oh and Ted7, I hate you! You make me feel like such an amateur photographer. Right when I start getting confident in my photography I come into this thread and see your pictures and all of a sudden I realize I still have a long way to go! haha
I'm going to guess you had narrow DOF because the first and third shots both have two cars, but only in the first one are both remotely in focus. Then again, the other guess is that the prototype on the left in the third shot must've been passing the Porsche very quickly because you were panning to catch the Porsche, not the prototype. Am I close?
Either way, not bad (certainly better than I've ever gotten)

I`ve been wanting to get a camera for a while. Photography has always interested me, and I beleive I have a fairly good eye for stuff, I just dont know how to use camera settings other than aperature really. I`ve been doing some research, reading mostly, as to what camera would be a good starting body. Something easy to learn on, but advanced enough it`ll last long enough for me. I`d like to hear what you guys have to say about things. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
I've been liking my Nikon D3100, but if I had it to do over again, I'd probably have spent a little more money and got the D5100 so that I could get the articulating screen for out-of-viewfinder shots.

Shame that Bulldog wasn't owned by the owner of the Merc

The license plate is a bit weird, I know the Pagode is from 69, but it sounds weird...

My mom has a D3000 that once in a while I'll get a chance to shoot stuff with, but of course she doesn;t allow me to leave the house with it So until then I just shoot stuff around the house. It's not a bad camera by any means, but it seems like something that you would quickly "out-grow". My mom's been shooting birds and such for a little less than a year and is already looking at buying a new body.

The bulldog's name is Uther (kudos to anyone who knows where that name comes from). Here's another cropped shot of him:

Bryan, I don't know if I like the crop of the merc and dog picture. I feel like its so cut, that you are keeping the rest of the picture from me (mostly the mustang). i don't know if its just me, but I hate seeing half of things. I know you couldn't see the whole thing in the original, but I feel with the guys chatting and all the mustang there it feels more complete. Maybe its just me, I'm crazy. Love the puppy :3
1990 Miata, she was red but now she is Spirit Green!
