Hello folks. Just letting you all know that I am now moderating this section as well as the Suspension and NA Chat sections as well. So if you guys need any help around here just let me know and I'll be happy to help. It would be great if we could get more of the PNW members from the other forum as well.

got my interior trim all cut out to fit hardtop brackets, got them installed.....leaks hard from the front middle. pretty sure the side brackets are warping the top causing a gap in the middle. anyone have experience with rennemetal brackets? the sides really didn't fit right initially. i read that hardtops can mis-shapen from overtightened latches over the years, causing fitment issues with these brackets so i cranked em down anyway.

Is that bracket flat or stepped?

It's stepped a little bit, but doesn't seem like enough. and it doesn't rotate enough as you can see. even the bracket had to bend a bit to meet the hardtop. i'll be contacting rennenmetal tomorrow to see what's goin' on. Tightened everything down exactly per the instructions.

Hmm. Have you heard any reviews of the Garage Star brackets by comparison?

I haven't but I went with the rennenmetal brackets because of their design. I wanted hardtop brackets to add some extra security and add a little rigidity to the chassis. The garage star ones didn't look as solid. Might just ditch the idea and get a toploc.
