Chevy V6 Miata is on the road

No ac, no ps, gearbox is making funny noises, driver window won't roll down at the rear window is useless, but I drove the car down the driveway and around the neighborhood. I have tuned only at a standstill but already the car easily breaks the tires lose at idle. This is going to be fun!

    EDIT

Now with power steering! Whoa, these pics sure make my engine bay look messy.

This is simply unheard of! So cool, haha

So, that motor made about 160bhp, right? Why did you choose to do this swap?

I think if you replace that intake mani with one of the newer 3.4s you could gain a lot of power. I've heard those things are huge bottle necks.

I choose this motor because when I started the LSx swap hadn't been done and 5.0 swaps were expensive. This is shorter than the stock miata motor, about as wide, and makes a ton of torque relative to the car's weight. The motor is a GM Performance Parts motor and the heads were heavily ported. I got a good deal on the motor along with high-lift roller rockers, cam, etc. I'm aware of the intake bottleneck, but this motor gives me the option for a ton of cheap upgrade parts since GM continues to improve its design. Finally, the narrow 60* bank allows room for forced induction in the future.

Weird, I was just talking about doing a V6 swap the other day vs. the usual forced induction or V8 swap. Good stuff! In for videos

Sweet. I think those are awesome reasons and I fully support this swap.

Lets see some videos of this sexy thang.
