Can we not have such a tacky patterned background? What is this, 1998? Honestly, it makes the site look cheap. I'm not against patterned backgrounds, just ones that are ugly.
If you're insistent on keeping the "carbon fiber," can we at least make the other body part not semi-transparent? That definitely adds to the chaos, especially with the white text on top of it.

As for the CF background, I rather like it. Cheesy? Perhaps, but in a good way. Sorta like the pink MiataTurbo logo, which I also love.
I lke it all. It definitely won't be mistaken for the other forums. The blue CF is a nice touch.

As a web designer, I gotta say the CF background is too much for me. Fade it back or possibly remove it all together. It is just too busy for a background. I am liking the evolution though.

As a web designer, I agree... and I fought the notion of the CF background in the beginning. But, it's what "the boss" wanted, so I experimented with it. It is a little busy, but it grows on you after a while.
Recognize that no matter what we do, it will absolutely NOT please everyone. Based on the abundance of "love it" responses vs. the few "hate it" responses, I think we did okay. The goal was to differentiate ourselves from all the other Miata forums, which we did.
Not too shabby. I barely notice the CF personally but this blue is a nice touch.
We appreciate contstructive feedback from the membership because we want MR to be your first choice in hangouts. A big part of the redesign was to carve out our own unique identity and the blue theme is really a good start. We can tweak elemements here and there (well maz admin and KFJ can) as feedback determins but it sure is a huge step to go blue in the first place. Personally, I love it and the green elements are pretty cool as well.

I love the blue and green! I too am not a major fan of the CF, maybe I would lower the opacity on the pattern a little bit? Either way, I'm digging the new look, I definitely know I'm on MR when I'm browsing.

minor quibble.
on my debian machine with a gtx580 video card, scrolling this forum with the middle mouse causes some very slow behavior. not sure if its the background or not, other miata forums scroll totally fine with middle mouse.
...just fyi.
