Roll Bar: Hard Dog or Boss Frog....?

I am considering taking the step of putting in a rollbar when I replace my carpet in the near future. I am planning a single hoop with double supports such as the Hard Dog or Boss Frog, for better rearveiw vision. The car is a '99 Highlight Silver Metallic, with Black interior. I want it as a safety item and to stiffen the chassis.

What do you prefer and WHY? Is one "better" than the other...easier to install, have more features, etc..? They are priced nearly the same, and while I have seen a lot of HD bars, I have yet to actually see a BF in person.

Any input, pictures, issues to know about would be welcome!

You probably see more Harddogs locally because they have been making them for Miatas since the early 1990's whereas the BossFrog are a more recent company, I don't feel one is better than the other, just depends on what you want.

The bossfrog double diagonal clearview allows more visibility. I have had the boss frog clearview, and a harddog. The clearview was my favorite because the bars at the top are spread a couple inches compared to the harddog which is connected side by side.

But thats my opinion. I love the double hoops i have now the most though. View is perfect.

The only real thing i see about Boss Frog is there claim that all of there bars are approved for trackdays. While Hard Dogs aren't . Either one will save your life though. I personally run the M2 sport with double diag. I'm 6'3 and the bars can get in the way of the reaview but a little adjusting clears it right up. I have a few pics in my photo gallery in my sig . In all the pics the seats are all the way rearward and tilted against the bulkhead.

I have had this bar approved for NASA hpde 1&2 in Fla

Really depends on the style and what not. With hard dog, you have choices to save money. If you want a basic roll bar, its the way to go. If you want a specific purpose, for example, a race ready bar that is made for a hard top and comes with a harness bar. This will also lead you to buy a Hard Dog. (their customer service is spot on might I add.) But if you want over all style with the use of a good roll bar, Boss Frog is the way to go. Just weigh all the options.

I used the M2 sport on mine with no diagonals. I like the visibility. But any one of them from Hard Dog, Boss, and Blackbird will work. They are all great pieces.

I just spent the day installing a Boss Frog in my 2003. I picked it because of the clear view with the separation of the diagonals and the larger diameter bars. I got it from Boss-Performance at $520 shipped which was a little less than I found anywhere else. It was a long day putting it in, but that would have been pretty much the same with any bar.

When I click on the roll bar I'm interested in, I see no pictures/prices/specs.
