Welcome back Mike! Love the new look, and will take you up on the pictures. Let me know if you want us to send new hardware; we have sourced domed cap nuts and correct length bolts, as most OE hardware has seen better days for most buyers.

Thanks for the fastener offer Harry, I'm going to stick with what I have though, I bought all new stuff when I first bought the wing so it's only a few years old (and stainless). Sent you a message about the pictures.

Heard from the rebuilder yesterday that they had disassembled my ‘charger and taken some pictures. Spoke with them today on the way forward. There were several things wrong that are a direct result of the incompetence of the last place working on it, I am more than a little bit peeved about that. Too much time has passed for me to address it. The biggest problem was a score on the shaft sleeve the other place had to put on, which over time chewed up the seal causing the leakage I saw. Here is how that looked (and how it made it out of that facility I will never know):

The score is readily apparent above the thumb on the hand in the picture. I had a good idea this would cost more than the base rebuild but it is quite a bit more. On the plus side, I will have new rotors, a new snout shaft with bearing and seal, new needle bearings, new timing gears and a new gear plate. Let the buyer beware is a real warning.

Yikes; agree with Bryan, seems rather deep. If it is only the sealing surface you might get away with filling it with epoxy and sanding it round, otherwise a weld and regrind might be the best way forward.

I'm getting a new snout shaft made. What's sad is this sleeve was installed because when I received it back from the initial overhaul last time, it started leaking within 100 miles. The shaft was sleeved when I returned it under warranty. Makes me wonder what the actual shaft looks like under the sleeve. I was also getting oil residue in the intercooler system which leads me to believe there was also a problem with the oil seals on the rotors where they pass through the bearing plate. All in all, the first overhaul I had done was not good.
