Exhaust manifold studs are hard to find, I guess.

So, I've been missing a couple of my middle exhaust manifold studs since I bought my NA and it's never been a bother before. However, I just developed an annoying exhaust leak and I figured that I might as well eliminate all potential causes. Does anybody know where I can buy the studs and nuts individually? I figure it will be from a dealer website, but part numbers would help me. My Google searches are only turning up ARP head stud kits that I don't want. Thanks in advance!

    Here.

It's expensive and it might take a while.
AFAIK there aren't any aftermarket exh studs. (ARP has accessory studs that fit.... but they're chrome and they might really seize in the head)

A junkyard would be free, and I think the B6 and BP motors had the same studs.
Make life easy, find a BG chassis protege, where the exhaust faces the front and steal a few studs.

^Treasure Coast Miata buys and/or strips every Miata that comes to the local junkyard and there's never any Proteges, so that's out. Now that I think of it, maybe I can pick up a couple from them. Thanks for the links!

The Jim Ellis link certainly helped. Good gravy they're expensive...

Just for reference, BP/B6 powered cars:

    90-94 Protege
    91-96 Escort GT
    91-96 Escort LX-E
    91-96 Tracer LTS
    ??-?? Capri convertible turbo
    Mazda MX-3
    Mazda 323?

Not sure if the SOHC B series engines have the same studs, but that opens up a lot more, too, if they do.

Size is correct. I like Rosenthal a lot that is if you want to buy new.

Thanks for the links, KFJ! Also, I forgot about the Capri. The junkyard had at least two with the engines still sitting in the bays the last time I was down there. Potential score!

    Geez. Jerks.

I depend on junkyard trists for my random nuts&bolts.
Thankfully we don't have any companies like that here, so I can pick the good stuff.

    Like my $10 toploc

Oh, no. They're very nice people with great part prices. They might not even be the ones gutting the cars, but I can't imagine them not at least stopping in with all of the Miatas that come through.
