Ok so here is my awesome low pro Miata Headlight conversion that only cost me about $70 total, compared to the $500 gomiata kit!! It is cheap, and the average person can accomplish it. the only "special" tools i used were a cheap harbor freight welder, air grinder, and drill. The only thing left is for me to make an aluminum surround for the lights, like the stock plastic ones
first off, you buy 2 of these from advance auto parts, and use a $20 off $50 coupon online.
then you buy a set of these... 1 or 2 depending if you want hid high beams.
then you strip your light down to this...
then remove the entire light assembly from the car...
then you are going to locate the front metal piece above the turn signals, and next to the radiator...
then you get your air grinder and cut it up!!
then cut the top center brace from the headlight support housing...
then reinstall in car and put the top lid back on, and mark your line across the lid facing directly forward of the car...
start drilling your holes for light mounting, i cant give instuctions because some people like to stagger the lights, but either way the lights fit perfect!!
this is the setup i used to make the retractor arms adjustable, and the pivot arm i just bent a piece of scrap metal into a shorter pivot
you are now in the testing phase it will take you about an hour of playing with the arms to get it right
and the final product!!!!
