Toolman has ITBs. Perhaps when he finishes you can see/hear/ride in one...

I would love to ride in that thing. I just feel its power and isn't conflicting with reliability. Turbo gives more power but requires lots of work and possible blowing up of an engine.

You think IRTB's won't come with their fair share of headaches either?

IRTB's will need just as much initial setup tuning as a turbo IMHO. If you want to boost it and not tinker with it (good luck) then maybe get a Supercharger instead. IRTB's will need some tinkering in cold weather, and Turbos will need tinkering as once the Turbo bug bites you will want to keep upping the boost!!!

No i understand IRTB's will need tuning and work, but I feel they give much more reliable power then a turbo set up. I will also avoid the boost bug. Phat you would agree with me on that since you want a V8 Miata instead of a turbo one.

That's a super generalized statement. I'll just let it slide..

The RB26DETT is set up as such. ITB's + twin turbo.

Best response plus power in 1

Take a look at the Jenvey HP (http://www.jenvey.co.uk/home/turbo-plenum). they got that turboplenum available. IL-Motorsport is working on a Jenvey IRTB-Turbo Setup for the MX5.
I don't know how it is called in english, but here is a wiki page that explains the way it works:

    http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spaltsaugrohr

just use gooletrans. maybe you will be able to understand it.
it's splitting the intakeair a part and delivers the exact same amount of air to all TBs. it even works without IRTBs, then you mount it on cut OEM intake mani and mount a TB at the intake of the plenum. it still splits the air better then a normal intake mani, where the last cylinder doesn't get the same amount of air, like the first.

that turbo plenum is not producing much more power in the lower and mid range, but it produces a better pedalresponse and topend power.
have to save some money, but i think in september i will be ready to order it. i already have everything else her, or ordered. the Jenvey IRTBs, a DIYPnP (i know, not the best ECU for IRTB-use, but it will work), all needed sensors and the Kraftwerks-kit is already ordered. i will start a build thread in the next days anyway. so i sure will show some dyno sheets as soon as it will be ready.

??? Why should i? it is pretty common to turbo, or F/I IRTB setups.
