    Project-G One Year Meet Recap

Project-G Official Recap (One Year Event):

First things first. Project-G would like to send out a huge thanks to all of our supporters who came out last Sunday to take part in Project-G's One Year Event. Without you, we would not have a one year to celebrate. The event was our way of saying thanks to all of you who have shown your support for our first year. Everyone respected the requests we had asked, (respecting the neighbors, etc) and we are grateful for this. Like we always say, Project-G has the best customers / supporters, and we mean that.

    Now onto the event.
This past Sunday was really an exciting event here at Project-G Headquarters. There were a ton of Miatas, numbers being reported seen to range between 250-300. It's really difficult to count since once our lot is full, the rest spill out onto the streets and other surrounding parking lots. Not only that, but cars come and go throughout the event, so it's really hard to get an accurate count. In addition, there were a few OTM (Other Than Miata) that had shown up. We wished we could have accommodated them, but with our limited space, we could not. However, we are going to try to make arrangements for next time. There was food, raffles, giveaways, sale items, silent auctions, a bargain area, a "name your price" area, and a bunch of other stuff going on. It seemed everyone was having a great time!

We would like to give an extra special thanks to our Celebrity MC, Paul S. Kim! He had taken the mic well before the event even started, and was talking non-stop til the end. The event just would not have been the same without him controlling the flow of the event. GREAT JOB PAUL!!!

So what was this Jon B thing about?
For those who did not attend this event, the reason we kept promoting our guy, Jon B, is we had a game called "Where's Jon B". We realized last year that all the good deals such as really affordable and sought after pieces ended up being gone by the first people here at the event. So to eliminate this and give others a fair shot at the deals all through the event, we came up with "Where's Jon B". For example, rather than to put out an R Style Front Lip for $40 and have it sold in the first minute of the event, we waited until later in the day, then announced "Jon B has an R Style Front Lip for $40! Where's Jon B!!!" or "Jon B has 3 free G-Shirts, Where's Jon B!!!" This went over really well for the most part. All the prizes and great deals seemed to be a bit much, so in a horrifying turn of events, while Jon B was doing his job, he was brutally attacked by a bear!!! This bear suddenly came out of the crowd, had his way with Jon B, and took an air freshener as his prize. (there are pics of this floating around the web) Although Jon B seems to be ok, we are not sure if he will ever be the same again.

    KINOD

The above sponsors had gone above and beyond this year!!! We strongly urge you guys to please check out what each and every one of the sponsors are about. Not only for the event raffle prizes, but for the online raffle as well. So that means they have donated to just about all of us reading this. The very least we can do is check them out, see their offerings, and hopefully support them with your purchases since these are the companies giving back in a big way.

    Sponsors attending the event:
    Boss Performance

Ben drove all the way down from Washington (17 hours) to attend the event! We were very honored to have him here.
Project-G is now carrying Boss Performance Modular Shift Knobs.

    KazeSpec Engineering
Henry had set up a display for his Tow Hooks, Seat Brackets, and Front Splitter.
Project-G has his Tow Hooks and Seat Brackets in stock.

    GarageStar
Kenjo drove down from San Francisco to be here at the event. Rather than set up a booth, he wanted to "attend" the event and rub elbows with his supoorters. We were very excited since Kenjo although being a Sponsor, is also a good friend.

    MiataRoadster
Bill had a booth set up showcasing some of his products and handing out his new licence plate frames. He also had Bill Schenker's Racecar at his booth for everyone to enjoy.

    KraftWerks/Skunk2
We don't even know what to say about these guys. They set up a booth to showcase some of their products, including the new KraftWerks Rotrex Supercharger Kit for the Miata. If that wasn't enough in itself, THESE GUYS MADE IT RAIN PRIZES!!! Shirts, Banners, Fender Washer Kit after kit after kit!!! We had music planned for the event, but KraftWerks/Skunk2 made sure we were giving stuff away instead of boring you guys with music.

These guys were so impressed with the Miata community and they were enjoying the flow of the event, so they decided to raffle off one of their Pro Series Oversized Throttle Bodies on a whim, in addition to the other throttle body they had originally donated to the raffle.

    KINOD
Krispykreme In N Out Drive - For those of you who do not know who or what KINOD is, this group has been meeting every Friday for the past 6 years, going on 7. A normal turnout for their weekly meet seems to hover right around 30 Miatas. They were the backbone of the Project-G One Year Event. Without them, this event just could not happen. Of course they all wanted to attend and enjoy the event as part of the attendees, but instead they sacrificed this to help with the jobs needed to make this happen. I would also like to mention, because they were here to help, they left all the great deals for you, the attendees of the event. So we feel all the people who were wearing the Red Project-G Shirts really do deserve a big round of thanks!

    Final Word:
Overall, this event was a huge success! Project-G's intention was to provide an event where the Miata community can come together, eat, check out each other's cars, win some prizes, and just have a good time. From the feedback we have received so far, it seems we accomplished just that. Our first year has been an interesting one and we plan to make the next even better. Again, Project-G wants to thank all the sponsors for making this such a huge event. We want to thank all the people who volunteered to help. Last but definitely not least, Project-G wants to thank all of you who have shown your support for us through our first official year. Like we always say, Project-G has the best customers / supporters!!!

Project-G is considering changing the annual event to the sometime in the summer months instead. As it stands right now, we need to consider and fear: Superbowl Sunday, Chinese New Year, Valentines Day, and rain and cold weather.
