    Garage Star Tire Rack

Some of you have seen some of these photos on the Garage Star Facebook page but Justin just got back from Miata Challenge today with some great feedback on the tire rack. We have been testing it around town transporting wheels but this weekend he had a chance to put the Garage Star tire rack to the test. He drove over 600 miles from Sacramento to Buttonwillow and back without any issues. We plan to make a few small upgrades to the tire rack then go into full production. Pricing will be announced very soon. If you have any questions feel free to email me. garagestar@gmail.com

    I love it!
I assume the bars that mounts inside the trunk area won't come off easily and act more like permanent ears for the bars that support tires?

Very neat! No hassles from cops regarding lack of rear visibility? It looks like the tabs coming through the panel gaps in the trunk are very tight, any issues with rubbing?

You can permanently bolt them in if you want but you can remove the entire tire rack in about 5 minutes.

Cops didn't hassle Justin as all. A few CHP officers gave him a thumbs up. It is a very tight fit but you might need to align your trunk. After we adjusted Justin's trunk he didn't have any rubbing issues.

Only thing better would be to make the rear uprights wider so that uprights could be bolted to them for a high mount track wing.

And eyelets for the tiedowns, or maybe just holes large enough to get the hooks in. Less slippage.

Maybe a piece of tube, 2" D to slip through the centerbores?

This is just the prototype. We are making some small changes to improve the rack. As far as a wing goes. Wait a few weeks and I'll have something for you guys.
