It's the "correct" motor for the chassis! Not only that, it's period correct to the tuning scene; when the chassis was new that was the most desirable, but unaffordable, engine. My H22A EG paled in comparison to my friend's B16A EF, those motors are just so rev happy and always egging you through the gears, I can only imagine the B16B is all that and more, probably a couple pounds lighter than other options too. These yuggins just want power.

Just read thru your build, Nic, great work! I love the GV panel and was so close to getting in on the group buy but held out for another option that has yet to become to fruition.

Love the hatch, i am a big honda fan and you definitely made the right choice with the b16b, an incredible motor!! If you don't mind disclosing publicly, what do the b16b's run($) these days? Hopefully you opted for a lsd equipped transmission because that was always one of my biggest gripes with Honda's and their 'performance' trim levels. In fact the ITR was the first to have them stateside?

    Look forward to the progress!!

Glad you spent some time finding yourself, your photography is really evolving nicely, and that civic looks dope as fuck with that B16 in there (Hearkens to the old simple jdm tuning days)
Being unemployed for a few month really gave me time to hone my photography skills. The civic is really just meant to be a simple fun car. At this point, reliable and fun are the two biggest goals for the build

That makes me so excited. I can't wait to get this car running and see how free spirited this engine really is. Wire Worx needs to hurry up with my harness.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate it.

Most of the non-douche Honda guys have told me that the b16b was a good choice. I purchased the engine, transmission, most of the accessories for just over $4000 shipped I was originally attempting to purchase a motor through a local importer, but had a terrible time. After nearly a month of headache I decided to get my money back, and went with somebody a little more reputable. After actually doing my research I decided to go with Honda Motors Online. I had a really pleasant experience buying from them, and I'd definitely recommend them to anybody looking for a JDM Honda motor.

The motor was shipped with a LSD equipped S4C transmission. The drive train is pretty much all CTR and the breaks, spindles, etc. are all from an Integra GSR.

I'll try taking more photos of the Civic build and scrounge up a build thread for it. It seems like there's a fair amount of interest in the car.

The B-Series motors are pretty stout. I wouldn't mind having an EK hatch with B16/B18.

Long time admirer, first post in your thread. You've put together a very nice NA and your photos give the thread life, which is what makes it a story rather then just info.

    I'm excited.
"what are you excited about, Nic" you might be asking...

That's where we're going to have some fun.

We're going to play a guessing game of sorts. Using just the info above let's see how can correctly guess what I'm getting.
I'll even be as nice as to give you guys a little hint.
    ...It's for my Miata.

    Winner gets a sticker!(or something)

Oh, and one rule: Erick(etikoner) can't play. I already told him what I'm getting.

    Good luck!
