    Mr.Poy's 1990 Miata Build Thread

Hello everybody! Just wanted to make a little diary of what I've been doing to my car for the past few months.

I bought this beautiful car from an uncle this past December. I pretty much bought this car so i can learn how to drive manually. Now, I'm driving it everyday like a champ!

When I bought this car it came with a few mods such as raceland headers, Tokico HP (which was already blown ..), a quick release steering wheel, MR2 rims, and roadster sport exhaust.

Just a few months ago, i signed up for Allstate's motor club and it came with CARFAX!
When I was looking at the history of my car, I was a little disappointed.
It said, back in 2006 the speedometer has a possibility being rolled back. YEP! it was rolled back. Two owners before me rolled it back about 40K-50K miles
I was mad for a day, but oh well! I can only make it better from here on.

Here is a pic of her a few weeks ago
    BTW i named her Madeline

At first, I wanted to buy a hard top to go with the car. A friend of mine, who also owns a miata, told me to get a Roll bar 1st for safety. SO.....Got this nice roll bar from project g this past February.

    Here are some more pics

Project G threw in a license plate holder. Thanks Project G!

A few months back, I decided to replace the blown suspension. I asked a buddy of mine what suspension he has at the moment. He told me that he liked the suspension from flyin miata. So i ordered the 2.5 suspension kit from flyin miata and a few maintenance parts such as the timing belt kit and water pump belt kit.

Me and a friend of mine worked on the suspension (sorry i forgot to take pics...)
For the timing belts, i took it to the mechanic since I'm pretty newb working at the engine, plus, just to get it properly checked out since I'm missing a few thousand miles in the speedometer....

As a summer project, i made a plan to work on my interior. I became a fan on how quilted vinyl looks in a miata, especially how Revlimiter's interior looks. Just last week I bought a few yards of quilted vinyl and I started to work on it.

    Well....when i was in there...

yeah...kinda sucks on what the previous few owners did to this car.

So, I decided to take off the speakers. For now...

Glued the speaker cover together with the cardboard

Started to draw out the shape

I had a few feet of plain vinyl running around at home, So i covered the top panel with it.

Here is what i came out with altogether

the board was worn out bad so i attached the panels together.
