The 2013 Florida State Championship Autocross will be held in conjunction with NASA. As a result, the State Champs must meet NASA insurance requirements. All drivers under 16 years old (sub-minors) that want to compete in the State Champs or Practice Day, must be pre-approved. The sub-minor's parent or guardian must contact Jon Felton, Director, NASA Florida, at (386) 227.7795 or www.drivenasafl.com at least 2-3 weeks prior to the event. This process cannot be completed at the event!

Quick question, which rules is the event going to run under? The NASA Autocross rules or the SCCA Solo rules?

Why was this scheduled on the same day as a Gulf Coast event? Also, are there any concerns of having people padocked on the lot from the NASA event?

MSCC is aware this date conflicts with an already scheduled Gulf Coast event. That is an unfortunate result we tried to avoid. Though I have heard a rumor Gulf Coast may reschedule there event date.

MSCC should not have any problems securing the paddock area designated for the autocross. MSCC has been working closely with NASA FL all season running their autox program when at Sebring. We have about half of the main paddock area as well as inside T16. The proposed course uses all of that space.

Scheduling an event like this (or any event now a days) is not easy. MSCC does not take its FL State Champs hosting duties lightly and we have spent over 6 months attempting to secure a suitable venue at the time that we all prefer to have the State Champs event (November). Our choices became extremely limited and ultimately the date and location we have now is what we were left with.

We hope you will choose to join us on the Sunday and/or Saturday

I have helped organize my fair share of autocrosses with both the SCCA and ER as well as served as event chair, course designer, chief of workers etc so I understand the difficulties trying to get events going. Thank you for the work you guys at MSCC have done for this event. I am still in the planning stages of October.
