Not the greatest picture.... (I will add more when i get a chance. Actually a very nice setup, i like.)

    But here's a Kenwood Excelon X994.

This drives a set of Clearwater components and takes a feed from the Sirius Sportster 5 you see. (Soon to be removed and Satellite controlled directly via headunit.)

No need to delete or add content. I like the topic. Just curious if you had a NAV (or raised truck as in your other thread). This should be a good thread.

How about in a '97 NA? These are pretty old pics, but although my interior has changed a lot the headunit is still the same. Kenwood DDX512 + Garmin/Kenwood nav module (Kenwood DNX5120 is the same but with built-in nav rather than module). I chose it because after playing with a few units at the local bigboxstore, I found that the Kenwood had the most intuitive (at least for me) menu and button layout. 1997s had true DIN opening, so install was pretty simple, albeit a very very tight fit.

It's been an awesome unit, but the GPS is starting to feel pretty dated. I'm really itching for a newer unit with more features (and faster processing power), but I really like the convenience of having it permanently installed there in the dash.

I'm using a Pioneer AVH-P6600DVD head unit that has been with me through quite a few cars since 2004. It's a champ and I haven't had one issue with it so I'll use it until it dies, and I'd probably try to repair it even then. I have my satellite radio and an AUX input for iPod/Android/Pandora access run through it so everything is controlled at the head unit.

I've got a lot less horsepower - luckily they are Japanese horses - usually in better shape and more motivated.

    Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD
    No Bluetooth or Navigation (extras)
    Nice 7 inch touchscreen

Great improvement in audio while still using the stock speakers thanks to the internal amplifier. Speakers will be upgraded later down the road.

I designated NBs because isn't the size of the din space different?

What do you mean? Mine had a double din from factory for what it's worth.

I could be wrong but I thought NAs had a smaller din, like 1.5 or something.

89-96.5 had odd-sized openings. Late 96s and all 97s had proper double DIN openings.
