Help pass CA smog with SC

So my friend recently purchased a Miata with a supercharger in it.
Is it possible to pass CA smog still? From what i have heard jackson racing is smog legal,
but now since smog laws are more strict we dont know what to do.. Any help to pass it legally?

Only way for mods to be "legal" in CA is with an EO# IIRC...if the smog technician opens the hood and sees something "not OEM" without an EO number, it's not legal.

I really don't know anything about the CA laws but I do know that the Jackson Racing M-45 Supechargers were CARB certified. There should have been a CARB certification sticker provided with the original kit. If you can't find the sticker or other CARB certification documentation, you might want to contact Moss or R-Speed for assistance on how to get the documentation needed as they have been distributers of the Jackson Racing kits.

Yup, usually a sticker or plate that comes with the piece. You should just be able to make your own if you can't find one, they all look different. Moss apparently "took over" JRs carb eo's soo you should be able to contact Moss about a sticker or post up a wtb thread and maybe someone outside of CA will sell theirs

Or just bring the kit's specific EO paperwork with you. If you wave that in their faces when they ask about it for the visual inspection, they usually shut up. You should be able to find that online with the installation instructions or something similar. Most vendors will not send a sticker anymore, unless you are the original owner on record for the parts. Most inspection stations have no idea what they are looking at anyways and just look for really unusual homebrew stuff.

As for emissions testing, you may or may not pass. Depends on the tune and general condition of the engine and emission controls, including the cat. Set up an appointment and drive around at freeway speeds for 30-60 minutes, never shutting off the car after you arrive. You want that cat really f'ing hot.

Thanks guys unfortunately no paper work was handed to me. And if anyone can direct me to get some legit print outs that would help out a lot.
