Hello everyone, questions on 302 swap
Hey guys I'm very new to the Mazda world and want to start a project 302 Miata. I'm turning to the forum expert's to help me out. I'm not new to forums lol so I know here are the best places to gain knowledge from the guys that get there hands dirty lol.
I have a 302 just pulled out of my friends car (he's doing a coyote swap) my very first question is what year miata should I be looking to purchase, this will be a weekend street rod fun car not really a track car
Thanks in advance guys!!

Hi welcome to the forum! Where are you from?
If you are doing a V8 into Miata Swap there are two sponsors on the forum that sell kits for a bolt in application

Welcome, Miatas from 1989-2005 can be adapted to V-8's (Ford & Chevy), there are even 2006-present that have an LS1 swap!!!!!!!

Welcome! I don't follow all of the details of V8 swaps as I am not actively pursuing the option but I do keep up with the general trends on who is doing what. I don't think you are confined to any particular year for a V8 swap. There has been a swap in every generation Miata and just about every model year. The 1st generation NA's (1990-97) have the least amount of room in the engine bay for stuffing a V8 in but that is not a limiting factor as it has been done many times.
Along with the engine swap sub-forum http://mazdaroadster.net/forumdispla...5-ENGINE-SWAPS, take a look through the build threads http://mazdaroadster.net/forumdispla...-STORY-THREADS as several members have documented their experiences.
