FS: 4.3L Chevy V6 1990 Miata in Dublin, GA - No Longer Available

FS: 4.3L Chevy V6 1990 Miata in Dublin, GA

Mfg date 04-89, this Miata has 4.3 L Chevy engine (I can't believe I've been advertising this for a week as a "3.4" liter! Dyslexia strikes again!) with 700R4 Automatic Transmission. The rear end is out of a 280Z. Only thing not working on car is gear indicator (cable kinked) and AC has slow leak, but cools well. Built by Lakeland, Florida drag racer, Chuck Reneger, the engine and transmission were rebuilt when installed (5,000 miles ago). I used it for Shriner Parades, but it is not fond of sitting for long periods of time idling, or creeping along at 2 mph. It is an absolute blast to drive and is a 'show off' car, not a 'show car'. Edlebrock Intake and 4 Bbl 750 carb will deliver 18 mpg on the road and 15 around town IF you keep your foot out of it. (I have smaller jets for the carb which would take it down to 500 cfm). Interior is surprisingly good for 25 year old car. Cheaper seat covers (not shown) should be upgraded. Radio and speakers suck. I have no idea how 'fast' it will go, nor do I care to find out. I'm 71 yeas old, so I try not to do stupid things. Questions? call Mike at 478 491 3053. You can drive it home. Cash or certified bank check only.

Problem is with that BIGASS carb and air cleaner sitting up about 3 stories above the motor a stock hood will not even come close...

cooling issues?..look at the size of that radiator...looks like a stock one..

but it does look pretty cool and betcha it would be a hoot to drive...once properly set up

but that is a killer price...

I guess you missed the 12 and 13 Shriner Parades; it was in both. I don't drive it very often, but it is ready to go. 422 Calvary Way over near the Board of Education on Firetower.

You would have to do something with that big Jug...maybe Fuel Inject. I think the low price scares people away, but that's about what I have in it. Not looking to skin anybody or make a killin'. It would be a great platform for somebody that knows what the hell they are doing. I can only change plugs, etc.

What is a "single hole core"? Although I have owned 8 of these since 2003, I know very little about them. seller

Yeah, it was sort of disconcerting the first time I drove it home from Florida, but you get used to it. Fuel Injection would be nice, but beyond changing oil/plugs, I'm stuck with hiring any work to be done. seller

It has an annoying "sheet metal vibration" at 1200 rpm. By the time I run around and crawl under the car....it has quit.

Yes, that is the original radiator, ergo does not like to sit in traffic or move slow. No problem in normal driving, however. Somebody is going to get a hell of a deal due simply to my lack of knowledge and value. Seller

Wiper motor pointing at the engine? Is that a big deal. Someone once said to me, "gloss top latches. That must be a 90". data panel says April 89. Another big deal?

Just some random small changes that Mazda made early on with these cars.

Thanks, Phatmiata, I'll do that. This car, according to builder in Lakeland, came out of the junk yard with new tire on it! In fact, they are still on it and date back 10 years, so probably need to be replaced despite the great thread left.
