Phatmiata (06-24-2014)
I think its a great time to buy a Miata, its summer. (doesn't pertain to me since I am all for the top up) but for those looking for affordable summer fun, its the MX-5...Miata is the answer.
Now whether a buyer is looking for the flippy headlights NA, the baby RX-7 looking NB, or the RX-8 inspired NC....theres a generation for every taste.
I like all three generations but my preference is the NC, (owned a NB and drove a NA).
Fortunately prices are very affordable, wish I could say the same for the S2000.
When the ND arrives, I expect all the previous generations to take a price hit.
Now as time goes by and clean low mileage/non abused NA/NB/NC examples become more rare (more specifically the NA) + the demand....prices will go up.
Just look at the pricing for good to mint condition CRX/Integra cars....its up there. The market for an unmolested/not beat up CRX now in the bay area is $2000-$5000.
The same will happen when people are looking for NA/NB. The NC is still fairly new so it will be a while and plus it seems to be the more unloved generation out of the Miatae bunch.
I like my "old man" NC whip, the modern day soap bar roadster.
