More progress on the rear wing assembly was made in the past week with the LH lower structure fitted...

...and the complete lower structure welded out.

    LHS

    RHS

We also trial fitted the APR GT-1000 rear wing with some dummy uprights.

The highlight of the week was receiving the materials for the removeable section of the airbox...and were promptly tacked together.

Then positioned in the engine bay to make sure all was as expected.

117 days and counting until WTAC 2014.

    Cheers,
    Danny

The intake airbox was finished this week with the latches added to the removeable section.

The locking tab pockets were added to the fixed section of the intake.

The catches were attached as well.

The throttle cable bracket/injector plug retainer was zinc plated and fitted.

    ....and ta-da!!! 8)

So this is where I'm up to with the build. There is now less than 106 days until WTAC 2014.

    Cheers,
    Danny

Do you think you'll get to do much shake down testing before WTAC and get everything sorted?

An open interpretation of the ultimate Miata while being a rolling piece of art and craftsmanship. The devil love child of a Miata and a 20b. If only Mazda had the capital to build a true halo car that encompassed what Mazda is all about (outside of the dead Furai). Holy hell, what a build; by far and away one of my favorites. 20bpp at wot will be such a screaming beast.

Probably not...but that's just the way it goes. I'll only set a goal after I've got some laps under my belt.

I had the pleasure of finally meeting Mori Masasi the owner of this rotor powered NA (13B BP) which most of you have probably seen on the net.

So the lead up to the first starting of the 20B called for a temporary wiring loom to be made. The actual loom will be manufactured once the chassis returns from being painted.

It also saw the basic layout of the main electrical panel being completed.

Besides me there were a lot of happy people there to witness the first start-up. 8)

Last night the clutch hydraulics were bled and I could resist testing out the clutch.

On Tuesday night the car will hit the dyno to get a run-in tune programmed on premixed Pump 98. Then before weeks end the car will be assembled to about its maximum weight so that measurements can be taken and work started on the suspension performance. This work will be undertaken by MR Tuning. From here the car will go to the mould makers so that the composite aero package can get underway.

...and a little bit of aural porn!

96 days and counting until WTAC 2014!!!

    Cheers,
    Danny

Damn. Danny this car is all I would ever want and much more. lol Sounds so perfect, looks great, and I'm sure it'll kick ass at WTAC

As sweet as the engine is, I'm excited to see what's going on for suspension tuning.
