    rev / Project-G Oil Caps

    rev / Project-G Oil Caps

    • Precision-machined 6061 aluminum oil cap from Project-G with a revlimiter insert of your choice.
    • Insert is the same as the badges - composed of vinyl and solar-cell quality polyurethane epoxy.
    • Fits all NA and NB Miatas, 89-2005. Also fits all FC and FD RX-7s (86-2002).
    • Cap and insert are packed separately so that you can install it with correct orientation on your valve cover.

    Installation:

1: Make sure the gasket is present and pressed into the cap.

2: Tighten it down firmly to squish the gasket. Note: it will always tighten to the same spot/rotation.

2.5 (optional but HIGHLY encouraged): Drive around with the cap installed for a few days to heat cycle the gasket. Loosen and tighten it when you get home at the end of your drive.

3: Get the insert ready for sticking to the cap. The epoxy is flexible and will never become rigid, so don't worry if yours is bendy. That's normal.

4: CLEAN YOUR OIL CAP! Make sure there's no dust or oil on the top surface. When clean, install the domed insert on top. Be careful to get it straight. And do this with the cap installed on your engine. It's not easy to get the rotation correct if the cap isn't tightened on your valve cover.

5: Step back and admire your gorgeous rev / Project-G Oil Cap.

    FAQ

Q: Can I have matching center cap inserts made?!?!
A: Yes! Due to the different sizes that center caps come in, each order would be custom (read: not cheap). I'll have a page of details coming in the near future. For right now, I'm trying to keep up with badge orders. Feel free to order some center caps via the order form. I'll request measurements in mm to 2 decimal places. You also must actually have center caps on hand. I cannot make the plastic thing (the actual center cap) that fits your wheel.

Q: Can I order a matching horn button from you?!??

A: Not yet. I don't have a good source for blank horn buttons. If you have a blank horn button in your possession and the button itself is perfectly flat, then yes. I could make you a domed insert for it.

Q: Why does it cost more to change one of the colors?

A: I keep all of the standard colors in stock. To make a single badge with different colors, that requires me to make a whole batch of them up. Making a whole batch up requires time. And I don't have a whole lot of free time lately. I'm sorry, but I have to charge extra for color changes.

    Q: Can I order a cap for my Dodge/Honda/Jeep?
A: No. The machined cap itself is made by Project-G. They fit Miatas and RX-7s. You could ask them about it! And, if you had a cap with a flat, recessed section on your valve cover already, I could definitely make an insert to fit it.

Q: Can I just get the insert? And will it fit my Project-G 1.1 oil cap?
A: YES! The insert will fit all Project-G oil caps. The only concern is the etched writing. If you order an insert with a white background like the Version NOS, you might be able to see the writing through the white vinyl.

Q: Can I order one of the special keychain designs (a tach, rainbow kitty, etc)?
A: No. Those use printed vinyl and don't live well out in the elements. All badge designs are pure cut vinyl. That means more intricate designs like the Eunos keychain aren't possible. Sorry.

Those are great!!! For the car... not my wallet.
I've got a lot less horsepower - luckily they are Japanese horses - usually in better shape and more motivated.

Thanks guys!!! It's been SO hard to not share pix of this for the past few months. I wanted to make sure the epoxy could stand up to engine heat before putting them out there.

Adam, I didn't see the price for just the insert. I have a Precision 1.2 oil cap on my car already and since I have the Elanor nose badge...

    damn.

I need to sell my ZOOM side markers and buy some fender badges, a nose badge, as well as a precision oil cap with badge. lol.

I am thinking its almost time for some new gauges too...
