...so today I picked up these:

Tesla Roadster seats, already prepped with brackets for a Miata!

There's already some story behind this car...

...but a new chapter begins today.

very nice, they look very supportive and lightweight ! Are the seat brackets custom or does someone make a bolt on seat bracket for these now?

Stock belts. I'm not looking to create a race car look. The idea is how to make the whole car look like it was built further up the sports car food chain, but as a road car.

I'll ask the seller. He said something about having them laser cut.

Alan my question was in regarding to physically how do you plan to use the belts? The belts receivers normally attach to the seat mount or the transmission tunnel. Normally people use the seat mounted receivers.

Hmmm.... ...that's a very good question.

I guess I'll start with what I've got mounted to the tunnel and see how it works. If I don't like the result, then I guess I'm hunting for receivers I can attach to the seat mounts.

I had Lotus Elise seats in my '92. The receivers are mounted to the tunnel. It wasn't an issue.

    Good to know...

...but I also need to think about my GF and that the receiver in the passenger seat was replaced a while back with one that was just slightly longer than the original, and she already finds that slightly awkward. At the very least, I may need to seek out a shorter receiver for the passenger side.
