MaTG 2014
Anthony, you should just tow your Miata out there. ;)

I have been looking into that. I was thinking of doing something similar to what RVs do when they are towing their cars instead of getting a trailer.

Not if you have a limited slip diff.

Put the rear on the dolly, front on the ground and tow it backwards?

I would be scared to rip my lip off. But that has definitely cross my mind as well. My wife and daughter will be gone for a month in July so I may be able to make a trip out there with the Miata.

MaTG is in July.
This thread is completely derailed.

Cool. I was about to start a thread as well. I don't know about attending MatG because of how crowded it gets but I know I want to take a road trip in July. Whether down South or up North. Doesn't matter too much to me.

Well, local hotels book fast, but there are other options outside the immediate area. I know there is camping available, Knoxville, Marysville, Cherokee, etc. have motels. A lot of people share rooms or are looking to share rooms to cut down on the costs.

I would probably find a hotel somewhere in the vicinity with my comp points. It would just be for the night anyways if I decide to go. I may even drive back that night. It's just letting loose on the drive for me.

I say two nights because it gives you the option to either drive back in the morning on the third day or later.
It was about 4 hours or so to drive there and then you basically drive most of the time you are there. It can be a little exhausting. stretching it out over a couple of days lets you be fresher, meet people and see more of the surrounding roads/hookup for spirited drives with others.

True. Are you heading there this year?

Personally, I like going the days before the main weekend to avoid the crowds. It would be your first one, so seeing the encompassing mass of Miatas there is quite a sight. Put yourself out there, too. You'll find a lot of interesting and fun people. Bryan is always fun to meet up there. Get invited to an evening gathering, have a few beers, or sodas, talk, relax. Enjoy it!

I don't know if I will be here. If I do, I wold have to take the e30, which isn't bad, just a bit odd.
