Back in a MX-5 Miata, feels good!

Whats up guys, I sold my 2000 NB (regrettably) a while back. Picked up a LS400 and then a 2014 Mazda 3, ending up selling both and picking up a 2014 PRHT Club model.

I should have never left the Miata world, feeling great to be back.

    Heres my new baby:

I just threw in the Joyfast super short knob and 300MM Broadway convex mirror from my old NB into the car. I took off the MX-5 decals on the body/dashboard.

Future modifications/upgrades/additions include Suntek HP charcoal 15% tint all around, S2000 antenna, and a spare tire from a RX7 or RX8.

    Cheers!

    Thank you!

I had a 2014 Mazda 3 i-Sport sedan (2.0 motor, manual transmission 6 speed) in Snowflake white pearl/black cloth interior.

As for selling both cars, the LS400 wasn't the greatest on fuel consumption (didn't expect it to and for being a late 90s V8 getting 19/25 mpg, it was more than respectable). While it had that timeless classic Japanese luxury look, it was just to plush for my taste. The car was super comfortable and it felt like I was riding on a cloud which made the driving experience pleasurable, it wasn't exciting. Plus I car just felt to big and I had a hard time parking in tight spaces.

The Mazda 3 was a nice car, I loved how the 3rd gen looked vs. the 1st and 2nd gen. The Skyactiv motor was awesome, got about 40 mpg on the freeway. Driving dynamics felt good, it was a very sporty sedan. My only gripe was the steering feel felt to video game like, didnt have much feedback.

I went back to a Miata because of the feel, low seating position, balanced, lightweight, cozy inside with just being a 2 seater.
I just love everything about the car.

    Thank you!

I was a bit apprehensive initially in regards to the PRHT (power retractable hard top) that should it malfunction, its gonna be $ to repair.
From what I read the PRHT is reliable, few have had issues but the majority seems pleased.

Its nice to have a hardtop that can go down at the touch and convenience of a button, though I rarely do so because I prefer top up motoring.

Peeling off the excess stickers from your new car. Win. Love your color choice too.

    Winlowe - Thank you!

Malibu Q - Thanks! And as for the decals, I thought of leaving them on to maintain some factory originality but I just wasn't feeling it. The club badges on the fenders can stay as well as the M badges and MX-5 badge.
I usually debadge my cars but this time I'm leaving em on.

    1. Yeah the low end grunt was slightly affected, but its worth the sacrifice.

    2. Thanks! I almost got the GT but decided on the club for the black (well really dark gunmetal) wheels and black PRHT. I would have like the bose sound system the GT gets.

    3. The NC is one bad booty soap bar, especially the club models with the black wheels/top!

    4. Thank you!

*First post updated with a pic of my old NB. (I was at Racinglab that day modeling a touge run spoiler for them)
