    Hotlanta Hot Wheels Convention

This past Saturday I attended the Hotlanta Hot Wheels Convention here in Atlanta, it started on Thursday and went until Sunday. Unfortunately I did not get to spend as much time there as I would have liked to, only about 4 hours at the most, it was a busy weekend.

The layout was rather interesting as well, convention rooms were used for registration, guest speakers, and events like the Customs car contest, but the buying/selling/trading happened in the hotel rooms on the 7th floor (and that was 24 hours a day as the participants desired). It was pretty busy and cramped up there so the only pictures I got to take were of the Custom cars laid out for the final round of judging and even then it was a bunch of quick shots before the room filled up.

So onto the pictures, starting with the Customs:

So on to the cars I got. I was told by a lot of the sellers that on Thursday someone had come in and bought almost all of the JDM cars and then someone came in Friday and got a lot of what was left. Even so I was still able to score some good cars:

I beat one guy to the Datsun TH but then he beat me in the next room to the Super TH version @ $20. Missing that one had me a little down, that's a pair I've wanted for some time, especially at that price. I was excited to find the silver Furai though.

Found a few 2013 Zamacs to help complete that collection:

I've got a lot less horsepower - luckily they are Japanese horses - usually in better shape and more motivated.

The Mustang has the signature printed on the bottom:

Some Retro cars that I haven't seen locally:

Mainline movie cars I didn't have (aside from the Enterprise, wanted one to keep sealed):

    A few Cool Classics I didn't have:

    Some more First Editions:

    And some $0.50/ea cars:

    Thanks for reading!!

Really would have liked to have been there. And what kind of ass manages to scoop up nearly all of any one thing at a Hot Wheels convention? I mean, damn.

IDK, but there were people rolling around large plastic totes full of cars that they bought so I wasn't all too surprised, not to mention they had the advantage of being there on a Thursday and Friday when most people are typically at work. I did watch one guy buy about 400 cars at one time, he said "I want every car laid out on the bed" and he and the seller went about making a deal.

I knew as soon as I took that picture you'd be excited seeing it.
