changing transmission oil : greased shifter turret

    Hi

I want to change my transmission oil. I put grease in the turret when I bought it because it looked like there had previously been grease there, but I'd kinda like to change it to oil. How do I go about this? Does the grease matter?

    Thanks

A lot of people put some gl4 75w90 transmission fluid. The most common is probably redline but ford makes a good one.

I've been told to use regular motor oil in the turret for better shifting and royal purple tranny fluid in the tranny.

Sorry guys I guess I wasn't very clear, I've done some before on other cars and have read up on the whole procedure on the miata. I'm gonna go with redline for sure. I'm really stressing on the grease and oil mixing together part. It's not going to matter is it? I feel like they co-exist in cars all the time, I'm just not 100% sure of the effects it could have?

I'm no expert but I think you will be fine (if your worried, wipe/remove the grease)
