howdy! i want to make it down to NCCAR sometime to do an event. seems like a really cool track. the wife and i only really run with NASA at VIR and Summit Point right now. she's an instructor with them which makes it nice.. she gets free track time.. helps ease the pain of DE's..

Wow, I'm impressed that you would know the grade of oil.

I think girls need to be more aware of one of the most expensive things they own -- their car. Most girls don't even know how to check their oil, much less know what weight it is. My husband is a mechanic so its kind of unavoidable for me to not have gotten sucked into learning as much as I can about cars. But my dad got me interested in cars at an early age and I've always had an appreciation for them. My first two jobs were at auto parts stores. Honestly though I got tired of the old men hitting on me there -- apparently there's some invisible barrier that makes men act decent towards women at other retail stores but I guess since auto parts are a guy's domain it makes it okay to act like a pig to a 16 year old girl... later on in life I also worked for my step-dad at the Express Lube shop he was a manager of, same thing happened there but I was 19.. so it's just something I've come to expect with being around cars, which makes me a little sad.

Free track time is awesome. I hope one day to be at the instructor level! I have great respect for ladies who have made it to that level so kudos to her!!!

We are actually securing the date of our next event down at NCCAR within the week. I'm excited

Funny story actually.. I was trying to win one out of a crane machine! I dumped so much money into it to no avail.. and ended up walking away so depressed. A few days later my husband handed me a pink Domo.. while I was in the grocery store wasting all my money on trying to win this dumb thing, he went on eBay and bought one for me! So now it stays in my NB and I take pictures of it everywhere I go. Almost like the 'roaming gnome'
