I should not have looked at this thread....I thought my interior looked great until seeing some of these photos. I want to go buy a lot of leather for some unknown reason.

Just gotta keep repeating to myself it is a fast weekend/track car so I don't spend money on the pretty pretty.

You should put a clock in the wood panel. It would break it up while being appropriate. Looks great!

I've been considering doing this, only as somone else mentioned, it needs a clock (or analog timer, if I can find one that isn't eleventy billion dollars.) If I do it, though, it will be set up to match a wooden-panel DIY KG style instrument cluster.
2012: Purchased Miata, Laid off 3 days later. 4th place overall (default!), NWOR SCCA (RTR)
2013: Budget RTR build, massive increase in participation, 3rd place overall, NWOR SCCA (RTR)
2014: Suspension and more active competition in STS. 3rd place overall, NWOR SCCA
2015: Time for some "form" and vintage styling (while still racing NWOR, of course).

Not to sure about a clock but i've been considering mounting one of those cheap ebay amp's in the panel. Also thinking of putting a starter button there. This is just a first step to cover the hole left from the stereo.

Funny you mention the DIY kg works cluster cause that was exactly what i was planning together with this panel when i had the Trap tombstone.
Got all the parts to make one but decided to part out the car and put it out for sale before i was able to start that project.

With the panel mounted i'm almost considering to sell my genuine KG works cluster and bring that project back again.

funny you both mention the kg works type starter, i was going to buy one but then found out they're discontinued... and i even went and found a 46mm clock to fit the darn awkward thing instead of a 52mm like most gauges! haha, but now i'm just trying to figure out how and where to wire those darn switches to (the three switches on the kg works starter, "accessory" "ignition" "safety") as well as the button itself...

    *in for the assistance*

    But what engine? 1.6 (90-93) or 1.8 (94-97)?
