Help recharging issues.

today while driving my car started losing power I shut off the car died I got it jumped drove over to my bosses house and I'd started sputtering really bad I found a piece of metal holding two negative wires together that was touching the positive terminal I took that off taped up the wire got it started let it run 30 minutes It was fine but on way home as I almost got home It started losing electrical power again. It is in driveway car is dead the battery is hot on Wednesday I had the battery and alternator checked and it said it was good could the piece of metal that touch the positive terminal messed thebattery up and I need a new one or is there another gremlin

We removed alternator. Took it to advanced auto had them check it like 10 times. It failed a few times and it passed a few times. Ordered a new one so he will install it tomorrow and hopefully problem will be solved.

Getting new alternator at 9am and honestly hipe thats the fix if not next is battery then have no idea cause then its a tricky gremlin

Yes jlb is my younger bro and.yes.he.got me.into miatas...alternator in...got it started...ran alittle biy...shut it off and it restarted...gonna wait few hours to see if still starts and still holding onto core alternator just in case...

Well looks like the alternator was the problem will know for sure if it happens in the next few days/weeks
