Hi All
I had a 91 roadster that was set up for autocross when I bought it. JBM motor, header and exhaust, vented brakes, SS lines, eibach springs and Bilsteins. Well I had a cell phone accident when a very over weight woman driving a mini van while eating a Donut from a very well known dunkin shop and talking on the cell phone when she turned left in front of me at a intersection with full video cameras (that is why I know that she was eating and talking when she hit me). Oh and she had No insurance.
I just traded the wrecked 91 and some cash for a 1996 M Edition Miata in great shape and 98,000 miles factor auto alarm, leather seats, 2 sets of floor mats one set is brand new still wrapped up, new top with glass window, new tires, full maintenance all belts and fluids with some thing called a Nardi knob as a gear shift knob. I am now the 2nd owner.
When I bought the car the original owner was so excited about the car and even had the Nardi knob wrapped up in a velvet cloth.
I did not have the heart to tell him I wanted to turn it in to a track car.
So now do I start modding this car for the track or just leave as is?
My plan was to install some goodies but I do have a few questions.
When buying parts do you like to stick to one company and try to deal with them or just go shopping around for best price. Flyin Miata, Moss Miata, GOMiata, Goodwinn racing. I don't plan on racing SCCA or NASA but still don't want to stray to far on mods just encase I do want to do a few races.
My mods in order that I plan to install.
Hard dog hard core M2 roll bar with bolt in side bars and bolt in harness bar.
Flyin Miata full butterfly and frame rails.
Full exhaust (don't know what one yet).
Cold air intake (don't know what one yet).
Full coil-over suspension package, bushings and adjustable end links.
I have 3 set of rims one with R1 tires and the others are rain tires and street tires.
By the way this is my other car.
