Hi I'm a new member and just purchased a 4/1989 MX5 that I would like more info on.

I just bought a 4/1989 Blue MX 5 Miata that I fell in love with after driving it.I'm 6' 2" and still fit ha!
I was looking at the Vin and need to know if this is a early production car that could be rare enough to leave stock?

    Any information would be appreciated.
Im a Hot Rodder by heart and have a history of owning muscle cars and classics.
Man did I miss the boat on this car thinking its a " Chic Car" One drive was all it took! What a blast!
This car has 100K miles and was from orig owner nice condtion zero rust etc.

Welcome to MazdaRoadster.Net and congratulations on your new acquisition and in seeing the value in our little "Chic Car's." You are by far not the first to utter the phrase: "One drive was all it took!"

2200 is a low-ish vin but not low enough to be sought after by collectors. It's more about the miles on the odometer, and 100k while relatively low for a 25 year old car, is not low enough to worry about preserving the car in its stock state. Use the car how you want to use it; stock is fine and highly modified is fine. You'l find many examples of both and plenty of support from those that have been where you are before.

Here are a couple of threads that you may find particularly interesting:

Let us know where you are from and post up some pictures of your new roadster when you can. We love pics here.

Welcome to the site! Let's see some photos of the Miata!

I grew up on muscle cars, my first was a 1971 Olds with the 455ci Rocket.

What are your plans for the car? Coming from the muscle car scene I would think the V8Roadsters way would be a good option. Like the old Cobras. We have several V8 guys here on the forum if you have questions about that option.

Welcome to MazdaRoadster.net, it's a fun little car on the back roads, but even better at the local track. These little cars can hold their resale value, but with 100k I would focus more on enjoying it. Since most miatas are beat up nowadays, you car should stand out. Enjoy.
