    Fake GV lip review...

The fake GV style lips are all over Ebay for $50 or less. It's a cheap way to add a bit of flair to the front of a Miata...but is it just for looks? I've noticed that my 96 Miata seems a bit squirrelly at speeds above 65MPH. So I decided to take a trip down the closest interstate after installing the lip. It seems that at speeds of 65 and higher the GV style lip helps reduce front end buffetting and lift a bit . Maybe my butt dyno wanted to feel more planted but IMO it does make a slight improvement. Of course, adding a real splitter would be even better for a track car

The original Garage Vary and or this eBay version will actually help a bit on the highway speeds, I also noticed the same on mine.

How is the fit on the eBay GV lip? I've been thinking about going back to a stock bumper with GV lip for a little bit. Swap between the two bumpers just for fun!

I had one on the NA, and the corners didn't quite want to stretch outward. From what I've heard, it's easiest to mount these from the corners and work your way to the middle. I didn't do that.

I also bought a package of binder clips to hold the lip on whist mounting, that worked very nicely

I bought the fake Garage Vary (Touge Run?), back when the real Garage Vary was fiberglass, and the fake one was a much stronger rubberized plastic. Three abused year later, still looks great, and the high speed stability added still there.

The quality is good. I used heavy duty clamps to position the lip and used self tapping screws starting at the center and working my way out to the corners.
