Was supposed to install the coilovers last weekend but realised in last minute that I forgot to order two conical washers from a Subaru forester that goes between the front spring perch and the tophat. Since all Subaru shops in town seems to be closed down during vaccation i ordered them from japan but managed to find a small shop who could get them for me so cancelled the order from japan and hopefully i can collect them on monday.
In the mean time i got this TRD starter button earlier in the week so installed that right away to keep the mood up!

So, been a bit on lazy side about this car lately. Actually got a bit fed up with the lack of power so been considering changing it up. Mostly been looking on the new Mustang and the coming Ford focus RS but none of those will happen until atleast next year.
Finally found some time to intall the coilovers. Started with the rears since i thought those would be the hard ones since i also was changeing the control arms. Except some rain which forced me to call it a day everything went just fine. Then i moved on to the easy part (the fronts )which turned out to be not so easy. The swaybar endlinks had taken some good beat from the two winters so they where IMPOSSIBLE to get off. with some massage with the dremel they finally went free. And gave me an excuse to order a beefier swaybar from whiteline together with some adjustable endlinks.
The next setback came when i was about to move over the oem tophats to the coilovers. The oem strut used a 17mm nut and it was a very snug fit to get down the wrench to get it loose. The KW however used a 19mm nut and all of my tools where just way to big. On top of that i also needed a 10mm socket to keep the rod from moving. Eventually i managed to borrow a thin 19mm socket, a really small 10mm socket and was then able to turn the 19mm with a vise grip.
And on they went
Then it was time to cover them up with some japanese sexiness!
The fitment is spot on! Only taken it for a short test drive but even in daily traffic it feels so damn planted to the ground. Need to get an alignment and then i have to take it to some sweet country roads! Maybe this car is a keeper anyway....

Mounted the new swaybar today after work. No pics though since time flew by and i'm lazy.
Also a couple new pics to get a better view of the wheels. Excuse the dirty car, was planning to wash it to but time ran away -_-

Did the wheels come with the red sticker? I think that would set them off and complete the look!
Offcourse they did! Since the wheels been in my storage since may they where quite dusty so wanted to wash them of before i put them on. Was supposed to do so yesterday but like i sad, time ran away. Going to take it for a bath tonight and put them on while they're clean

After I lowered the car the rear toe got waaay out of spec so before i send it to alignment I put an order on a pair of whiteline adjustable toe arms. Thought i could use the toe bushings included with the SPC LCA but they seemed like a bitch to install and the adjustability is quite limited.
Really impressed by FT86speedfactory. Put an order on the mail monday night and got them today by lunch time

Decided to completely re-install the endlinks and made sure everything is tight so now the clunk seems to be gone. Also installed the whiteline toe arms. Pretty straight forward installation without any hassle
Sent the car to an alignment today and going to pick it up tomorrow. Can't wait to see how the car feels now when everything is dialed in!

Picked up the car from the alignment a couple of days ago. Really love the way it handles now. So precise and tight on the road but without taking any comfort away. The KW's was well spent money indeed! Ended up with about -1.5 degrees of camber in the front and -2.2 in the rear. Might take some more of in the rear as long as it clears the fenders and maybe add a little more in the front but it will do for now. Got a rainy week here in sweden so haven't had the opportunity to take it out for some spirited driving yet. As soon as the weather allow i will take it to my favourite road for some serious testing.
Also found my old car on Facebook while the new owner is doing some tracking. Have to say it look damn good on the track! Kind of make me miss it a little...

They are TRD door spacers and are actually an dealer option. Quality is top notch and i hope they will be just as great on this platform, or atleast get rid of the rattles in the doors (it's embarrissing but this car almost rattles more then my 25 TWENTYFIVE year old miata...)
