Power Window Fuse Blown - Where to begin?

Windows in the car wouldn't go down yesterday. Have a 95 NA. Checked the fuses and the 30 watt fuse is blown. Replaced it only to blow the second. Now I have very little knowledge of electronics other than hooking up radios n such so that's why I'm here.. Where should I start on diagnosing this problem?

    Thank you.

Have you changed anything else electrical on the car before this started happening?

It is strange that it would be blowing fuses? generally the windows just slow down and the motors die

Put door speakers in. Could water have gotten in that and shorted them? Hmm. That's the only thing I can think of. The window guides and started squeeking lately from all the damn rain and slowed down. I park under the garage area all the time now.

I had the same issue a couple months ago. The window fuse had blown, I replaced it and it happened again. For some reason, though, the third one lasted until now. I don't know what could be wrong, so I am here to see what people think

Make sure you didn't pinch any wires where the speakers are. There might be a short as well.

Don't think guides would be it. As soon as I put a fuse in and turn the ignition it blows. Just took apart both doors, checked speaker wiring and everything looked good. No frayed wires touching metal. Took out the radio fuse as well and put in a window fuse and it still blew with radio getting no power so I don't think the issue is there.. Is there any known place where these my commonly short other than the doors?

Any chance water or drink spilled onto the switch itself?

That's what my mechanic told me, the guides could be stuck and the motors could be causing the issue. I think it's worth looking into that.

Hmm, took apart the center console already and that all looked fine.. But I kind of vaguely remember spilling something on it slightly. Or raining with the top down. May check that one more time.

Unplug the window switch then turn on the ign. If it still blows the fuse you know it's not the switch.

Honestly wasn't sure about how to go about testing that one other than looking at it. Thanks Martin.
