Stalled - Fire it up!
turbocharged 1990 miata with 1.8 swap throttle body question
I just have a few questions.
so my car is a 1990. I have a 1994 1.8 which I have already installed in the car. im running a BEGI manifold and a T2871 turbo charger. I am running 440 cc injectors. I have a flying Miata clutch. I have done new timing belt, water pump, front/rear main seals, basically all of the seals. Yes I have A/C, Yes I have POWER STEERING and Yes I have HEAT.
I know pretty much everyone uses the 1.6 throttle body on the 1.8
I know the connectors are different for the throttle bodies
I ALREADY HAVE MEGASQUIRT MSPNP 2
I am not running a MAF!!
Now back to the throttle bodies
1) is it possible to wire in the 1.8 throttle body and adapt it to the 1.6 harness since I am running Megasquirt?
2) is it possible to use the 1.8 throttle body instead of the 1.6 throttle body.
3) I WANT TO USE THE 1.8 THROTTLE BODY IF POSSIBLE!
if you have done this please give me more information
Please do not tell me to just use the 1.6 throttle body. I want details, I want to know why it will work or why it wont work!
this is pretty much the only thing standing in my way at this point

3,000 rpm - starting to feel the power
Yes you can use the 1.8 tb with the MS. That's what I did back when I had a 1.8t with TEC3 ecu in my 91. Since you have a 1.6 MSPNP you will need to wire in the different tps connector and make a couple of calibration changes so it knows you have variable tps now.
I'm cant remember much about MS programming so I can't tell you exactly what software changes need to be done but the info should be out there, it's been done many times.
